The mission of the EarthTides Pagan Network is to provide opportunities for Pagan groups and solitaries in Maine to connect with each other in positive ways, to advocate for and educate about the Pagan religions, and to encourage and facilitate the ethical and honorable practice of those religions, without in any way limiting that freedom of choice which is so essential to our faiths.

  1. Board of Directors

    1. Composition. EarthTides Pagan Network shall be governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Maine Pagans/Polythiests/Nature-based faiths who have an interest in supporting our Maine Pagan community.

    1. The Board of Directors will be comprised of these Executive Officers: President, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications Outreach Coordinator, as well as other community board members, with a minimum of three and a maximum of thirteen people on the Board of Directors.

    1. The Board of Directors will consist of, at minimum, a President, Secretary, and Treasurer held by three different people.

    1. The Board of Directors is responsible for specific leadership roles (e.g. chairpersons of standing committees) necessary to do the work of the organization.

    1. The Board is responsible for decision making and day to day operations between quarterly meetings. Its duties shall include the setting up and assisting of both standing and ad hoc committees, administration of EPN funds, attention to all legal issues, maintaining such correspondence as shall be necessary, and the keeping of all official records, correspondence, and hosting, maintaining, and posting to our website.

Board Officers shall be appointed to the board by the President after a nomination has been made, with membership for terms of approximately three years
corresponding to the Annual Meeting dateAny Board Member/Executive Officer may be removed from office by a vote of two-thirds of the Board.

    1. The president shall appoint from among interested Board Members a temporary officer who will serve until an election can be held to fill the position at the next Annual Meeting.

    2. Election of Executive Officers shall take place at the Annual Meeting.

    3. Annual Meeting will be held in February of each year. The Board must be notified 90 days prior to this meeting by email.

2. Meetings

  1. The Board of Directors shall call an Annual Meeting of the EarthTides Board, between Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox each year.

  2. Notice shall be sent via email to the Board of Directors as well as the community volunteers.

  3. Additional meetings may be set up as deemed necessary by the Board of Directors.

  4. Closed Session Meetings. The Executive Board shall meet in closed session in the event of personnel or legal issues in which involved parties are due a degree of privacy and discretion.

 

3. Volunteers

Volunteers. An email list shall be maintained for Maine Pagan-identifying people, who are all welcome to volunteer, to submit info for our website, as well as offering input at meetings and volunteering at events.

 

4. Procedures

A quorum for any official Board meeting shall consist of a two-thirds majority of the Executive Board of Directors or a two-thirds majority of the Board of Directors, whichever number is greater.

EarthTides shall operate within all State and Federal laws.

 

2. In the event of dissolution of EarthTides Pagan Network, all assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501C(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Any such assets not so disposed of shall be disposed of by the Court of the county in which the principal office of EPN is then located, exclusively for such purposes or to such organizations, as said Court shall determine, which are organized and operated exclusively for such purposes.
